As key business leaders we need to keep up on the latest news, business trends, and strategies to increase the productivity of our business. One key element to making this happen is to attend business classes, seminars, and workshops. Often, these events are held in the Twin Cities or other densely populated areas. Business leaders often do not want to take much time away from their business. With that said, the Martin County EDA has begun to organize business classes to be offered in Fairmont, MN. These classes are primarily offered to anyone in Martin County, but anyone is welcome to attend.

One key component to being successful in today’s marketplace is collaboration. The Martin County EDA is taking the initiative to meet with every community in Martin County to bridge the gap between rural communities to work together towards achieving a common goal. The meetings are designed to explain how we can help maintain and grow businesses to keep citizens in the area. We also talk about the challenges, successes, and opportunities that each community faces. Our goals are to develop a robust relationship with each community to break down barriers that impede growth and to work towards a common goal of increasing the economic vitality of Martin County to effectively compete on a national and global level.
Business Visits
Businesses are a key driver to a healthy community and economy. In efforts to help nurture business sustainability and growth, we are taking an active approach to support businesses. We are arranging to meet with business owners in a variety of industries each month to discuss their challenges, successes, and opportunities for growth. From the data we gather, we develop solutions to fill the business’s needs. We also communicate this information to the local and state representatives to address issues legislatively.
